Pro-Life Baby Shower
The St. Bonaventure Knights of Columbus, in cooperation with Pastor Rev. Kenneth Overbeck, members of St. Bonaventure Parish and Cub Scout Pack 51 recently conducted its annual pro-life “Baby Shower” to support the Archdiocese of Boston Pregnancy Help Center. The center provides free, confidential counseling, ongoing support, material assistance, parental care, referrals and alternative housing for women and families of the Archdiocese who are facing a crisis pregnancy. Anyone who desires help may call “Pregnancy Help” toll-free at 888-771-3914. All calls are held in strict confidence.
As a result of the generosity of the St. Bonaventure parishioners and friends of the “Unborn”, the event raised $2,500 and approximately $1,200 in new baby items. Mike Gaffey, Grand Knight of St. Bonaventure Knights of Columbus, presented the check to Lynn Kenn, representative from the Boston Archdiocesan Pregnancy Help Center.
Each January, near the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we ask for donations of new baby items, we then donate these items and any cash donations to the pregnancy support center. Each year St. Bonaventure is one of the largest contributors to this program.
